SynthTools is a Chrome extension that provides workflow enhancements for Synthesis PACS. Most extension functionality operates locally within the user’s browser. Certain user-created settings are securely stored remotely to provide settings synchronization between computers.
What Data We Collect
SynthTools does not collect patient information, report text, browsing history, Synthesis passwords, or Synthesis session tokens.
To provide settings synchronization, SynthTools stores the user’s Synthesis site and user ID, the display name shown in Synthesis, and SynthTools settings created or selected by the user. These settings may include feature toggles, colors, dictation presets, button mappings, macros, and other extension preferences.
Settings Sync
SynthTools saves each user’s SynthTools settings so they can follow the user to any computer where they use SynthTools and sign in to Synthesis.
Settings data is stored in a Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase) database operated by the developer and located in the United States (Central) multi-region (nam5). Settings are loaded and saved automatically when the user signs in to Synthesis.
A copy of each saved settings version is retained for up to 60 days so previous settings can be restored if necessary.
How We Use Your Data
The information stored by SynthTools is used solely to provide extension functionality, including synchronizing user preferences and settings between computers and allowing previous settings versions to be restored.
SynthTools does not use stored information for advertising, marketing, analytics, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing SynthTools functionality.
Patient and Report Data
SynthTools does not store or transmit patient information, report text, or other patient-related clinical data as part of the settings synchronization service. SynthTools also does not store or transmit the user’s Synthesis password or session token.
Data Sharing
Stored profile and settings information is not sold and is not shared with third parties except Google, which provides the Google Cloud Firestore/Firebase infrastructure used to host the data.
Only the developer can view or manage stored SynthTools profiles.
Data Retention and Deletion
Saved settings versions are retained for up to 60 days. Current profile and settings information is retained while the synchronization service is being provided. Users may request deletion of their stored SynthTools profile and settings by contacting [email protected].
